Completed project to build bridge linking Chetumal and Costa Maya

The Trust for Regional Development South East (FIDESUR) has allocated 5 million pesos to prepare the final design of the bridge 32 kilometers that would connect to Chetumal with the Costa Maya.
The head of the Ministry of Planning and Development (Seplader), Andrés Ruiz Morcillo, said it plans to invest 2 billion pesos for the construction of such infrastructure would start in 2013.
This said the development of the South Zone of Quintana Roo, will result in attracting more domestic and foreign tourism to benefit local economic sector.
The bridge would consist of construction of 22 kilometers above the sea, plus 10 miles of shoreline in a bay of water, which depth is between one and six meters deep.
The owner of the Seplader mentioned in a regional meeting in Mexico City with representatives of FIDESUR, where development projects arise that have provided during the administration of Governor Robert Borge Angulo, who recently confirmed the FIDESUR allocated 5 million pesos for the preparation of the final design of the bridge that will connect with Chetumal Majahual and Xcalak.
He said the investment will require this mega bridge amounts to little more than 2 billion pesos, achievable because in 2011 the Ministry of Communications and Transport had subejercicios by 3 billion pesos.
